A flyer on a bulletin board.
That's still the main way some members get their information.
Not a text.
Not an email.
Not a website update.
A piece of paper, pinned up somewhere most people walk past without looking.
We're in 2025 β and the union is still communicating like it's 1995.
Members miss meetings because they didn't know.
Members miss deadlines because no one told them.
Members miss opportunities because the information never reached them.
And whose fault is that?
Communication isn't just about having information β it's about making sure it reaches the people who need it.
That means:
- Text alerts
- Email updates
- A real, modern website
- Direct outreach β not just a bulletin board
If leadership is serious about keeping members informed, they need to meet them where they are.
Because if the message doesn't reach the members, it doesn't count.
